[Law Amendment] 10% Reduction in Patent Registration Fees (Effective 2023.08.01)

The amended Rules on the Collection of Patent Fees, etc. take effect on August 1, 2023.

For cases with a decision to grant dated on or after 2023.08.01., registration fees are reduced by about 10% compared with the previous fees, starting with cases whose regular due date for the registration fee or annuity falls after that date.

For a patent granted with 10 claims, the registration fee for the first three years (with a 70% reduction) falls from KRW 130,500 to KRW 119,700, a reduction of about KRW 10,000.
