Privacy policy

LNB IP LAW FIRM (“we”) has adopted this privacy policy under Article 30 of the Korean Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). It covers the personal information we process through the enquiry forms on our website (www.lnbip.com). This English version is a translation; if it differs from the Korean version, the Korean version prevails.

1. Purpose

We use the information you send through the enquiry form only to receive your enquiry, identify you, and reply to and follow up on it. We will not use it for any other purpose without taking the steps required by the PIPA, such as obtaining your separate consent.

2. Information we process

  • English enquiry form — required: name, email, message; optional: firm or company, PCT or application number, matter, attachments.
  • Korean enquiry form — required: name, message, and a phone number or email; optional: company, matter, attachments.
  • Created automatically when you submit — date and time, the site used (English or Korean), and the country estimated from your IP address. Your IP address is processed by our hosting provider (Cloudflare) to operate the website and deliver the form.

Please include only what is needed for the enquiry, and do not send national identification numbers or sensitive information such as health data. We do not process sensitive or pseudonymised information.

3. How long we keep it

  • We keep enquiries for one year after the enquiry is closed and then delete them, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.
  • Our email delivery provider (Resend) keeps a delivery log for up to 30 days.
  • If the enquiry leads to an engagement, the information needed for the matter is handled under the engagement.

4. Disclosure to third parties

We do not provide your information to third parties, except with your consent or where the law allows it (Articles 17 and 18 of the PIPA).

5. Service providers and transfer outside Korea

  • Cloudflare, Inc. (USA) — website hosting; receiving and forwarding the enquiry form
  • Resend, Inc. (USA) — sending your enquiry and attachments to our mailbox
  • Kakao Corp. (Korea, Daum Smartwork) — hosting our office mailbox

Using Cloudflare and Resend transfers your information outside Korea (PIPA Article 28-8):

  • Information transferred: everything listed in section 2, including your message and attachments
  • Country: USA (Cloudflare operates data centres worldwide, so the data may pass through servers in other countries depending on where you are)
  • When and how: as soon as you press “Send”, over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection
  • Purpose and retention: Cloudflare — operating the website and forwarding the form (we do not store enquiries with Cloudflare); Resend — sending the email, delivery log kept for up to 30 days
  • How to refuse: if you do not want your information transferred, email us at lnbip@lnbip.com or call +82-2-2135-9435 instead of using the form.

6. Deletion

When the retention period ends or the purpose is achieved, we delete the information without delay. Emails and attachments are deleted so that they cannot be recovered, and printouts are shredded. Information that the law requires us to keep is stored separately.

7. Your rights

You may ask us at any time to give you access to, correct, delete or stop processing your information, or withdraw your consent, by email (lnbip@lnbip.com), phone (+82-2-2135-9435) or letter. A legal representative or a person you authorise in writing may also do so for you. Some requests may be limited where the PIPA or other laws require it.

8. Security

  • All traffic to the website and the enquiry form is encrypted (HTTPS).
  • Enquiries are not stored on the website; they are delivered only to our mailbox.
  • Access to the mailbox is limited to members of our firm who need it.
  • Spam protection blocks automated submissions.

9. Cookies

Our website does not set cookies and does not use visitor analytics. Some pages include Google Maps or YouTube videos, for which Google LLC may use cookies under its own policies. You can block cookies in your browser settings.
